Adobe Illustrator Experimentation
This is what I have done, while I was using Adobe Illustrator for the first time, I experimented with different fonts, shapes, text and effects in general. This was also my first time using this program as I have never used this program before. I will be using this program to create my own masthead, which will be used in the magazine front cover. I will also be using this program to edit all my text which I will be using not only for my masthead but for the cover lines, strap lines and anything else that is enlisted as typography.

Adobe Illustrator induction
-Vector NOT
pixel – based
- - Allows
for highest quality graphics
- - Works
well with other with other CS programs e.g. Photoshop or InDesign
- - Anchor points mean you can manipulate
- -Selection
tool and direct selection tool
- - Direct
selection tool allows you to move anchor points and handles
- -Stroke
– outline a shape (giving different texture of changing font)
- -Opacity
– can make it more or less opaque
- -Keep
“layers” toolbar open. Lock layers that you are not working on (keeps image
from not moving -away)
- - Free
transform : for moving things
- -You
can create text within shapes or following lines using the area type tool
-Make sure you are happy with your masthead, before you right click and
create outlines / manipulate. This create vector anchor points.
- -Colour
pallet. Swatches can be chosen from the menu.
- - Export
à file à export à PNG. Resolution = PPI (High).
Transparent background. (Allows the background to be clear and the image to be
of high quality.
- -Always
save the file as an Adobe illustrator file, to go back to improve work back on

Photo Studio notes
Photostudio notes
Today I had a trip in to the photography studio to have a photo-shoot induction using the studio. As I do photography as an AS subject, I found the studio - photography slightly easy to configure around as well as had knowledge about studio photography.
DSLR (Camera) : The DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) I will be using is the Nikon D7000, it is a 18 Mega pixel camera and has the storage of 16 - 32 GB.
Back drop : In the studio the first noticeable surroundings I was aware of was the white backdrop, the reason for having a white backdrop is to display an individual to have a clear background in the images taken from the camera, there is also a black backdrop for the same reasons for the white backdrop.
Infrared - All the equipment used is infrared connected meaning, they have to be close to interact together
Lights : Before taking pictures in the studio the light must be switched OFF
Cautions : Model must be away from the backdrop around 5/6 feet away, if they are close to the backdrop then they will be bleached within the backdrop on camera.
The lights and equipment I am going to use is called "Trinity flashlight"
On each of the equipment soft boxes , grids and snoot there is a + and - button, this is to either increase or decrease the lighting. The numbers displayed are 1 - 6 (1 being the lowest of light) and (6 being the highest of light)
Godox : A godox is a device which is on the camera it connects to the softbox, grid and snoot through infrared. The godox is delicate and battery operated

Exposure - In photography, exposure is
the amount of light per unit area reaching the film, as determined by shutter
speed, lens aperture and light. If the film is over exposure the film will turn
black, if the film is under exposure the film will go white.
SHUTTER SPEED
– Slow shutter speed combined with
panning the camera can
achieve a motion blur for moving objects. In photography, shutter
speed or exposure time is the length of time a camera's shutter is open when
taking a photograph. The
amount of light that reaches the film or image sensor is proportional to the
exposure time. Controls the length of
time the film or sensor is exposed to light.
The length
of time the shutter is open is called the ‘shutter speed’. It is calibrated in
fractions of a second usually
30, 15, 8,
4, 2, 1, ½, ¼, 1/8, 1/15, 1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000
Aperture - an aperture is a hole
or an opening through which light travels. More specifically, the aperture of an
optical system is the opening that determines the cone angle of a bundle of
rays that come to a focus in the image plane.
Shallow Depth of field - Shallow Depth of
field is the distance between the nearest and
farthest objects in a scene that appears acceptably sharp in an image. Although
a lens can precisely focus at only one
distance at a time, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on each side of the
focused distance. This also blurs the background while focusing on the object
in the front.
ISO - In very basic terms, ISO is the level of sensitivity
of your camera to
available light. The lower the ISO number,
the less sensitive it is to the light, while a higher ISO number increases the
sensitivity of your camera.
Call Sheet
This is a Call Sheet I have created, this displays all details about my photoshoot, in which I planned out with all the equipment I used details and names also the whole reason on why I have created the call sheet.
